  25. ANDREW, let me express my most sincere respects and admiration. I’m a Colombian expat teacher living in the U.K. and I am deeply moved after seeing your photo-documentaries about my home country, Southamerica and all the other amazing places you made beautiful poetry about with a camera, ingenuity, skill and honesty. CONGRATULATIONS.

    • Hugo, thank you! Colombia was my favorite country on the trip so far (followed closely by Uganda and Argentina). I can’t wait to return one day. The people, the food, the scenery—everything about it was amazing and refreshing.

      Thanks for the compliment!

      Andrew

  26. andrew,

impressive ride. i ride fixed all over the u.s. and
sometimes italy, but never contiguously. your trip
looks endlessly fascinating. i stumbled on your blog
googling “guayaquil” for photos. am seriously thinking
about it for an extended stay. i liked your photo of
the barrio, which, despite being the barrio looked clean
and inviting. not to mention affordable.

was also intrigued about the guy who started a bike club
there. would you by chance have contact info for him?

i am in rome at the moment on what is shaping up to be a
“the honeymoon is over” stay. hence the casting around
    for my next extended adventure.

i can.t quite tell from the photos where you are now or if
you have already finished but in any case, i hope all is
well for you and your travels.

    c.

  27. your feet looked…. ewww…
