Having grown up in Venezuela (a third world country), I would suggest also taking a knife, flint (to make fire), and most importantly a compass. Also, read up on a couple of survival books while you are still in the US…just in case….
Good luck! You have a lot of people living vicariously through you…
Best,
Rene

Hey Andrew,
Is that the laptop in which I installed the new hard drive and additional ram? I’m glad to see it is filling such an important role.
I hope you continue to have a safe and successful trip. I am very happy to have met you in Japan.

I will be cycling in Colombia over the New Year. End-to-end for the second time.
I want to buy a hybrid similar to yours to use there.
Can I buy them in Bogota, Bucaramaga or other cities.
Answer please urgently.

Andrew,
Why did you decide to use a trailer instead of panniers? From your experience thus far have you been happy with your choice?
Safe travels, you’re an inspiration to many.

What kind of derailleurs? Are the Safari frames aluminum? Does it make for a stiff ride?
