I have two weeks left before the trip starts. I’ve already taken care of lots of the big purchases and planning tasks associated with a trip like this. Now, all that remain, are the…ugggh…little, tiny, seemingly countless annoying things that make organizing a big trip bothersome.
- I need to set up my tent on top of a tarp so I can cut the tarp to the size of my tent’s “footprint”.
- I need to buy all-purpose soap and other little things for the trip.
- I have to send in my Japanese pension refund paperwork.
- I need to get my bank to give me some official paper that says I have an account with them so I can send the Japanese pension papers in.
- I have to clean and grease my bike chain.
- I have to research on-line to find out exactly how to clean and grease a bike chain.
- I have to learn lots more about bike maintenance.
- I need to eat some homemade pasta from Croce’s Italian Deli before I go or else I’ll crave it in the same distracting way I craved it while I was in Japan.
- I have to figure out how Google’s MyMaps program works and get a map for the trip sorted out.
- I need to meet with my friend Dan and ask him for tips on how I can make my site more search-able on Google searches.
- etc. etc. etc.
But before I do all of this stuff, I first need to eat an apple. After the apple, then I’ll start. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. Hmmm. But the apple will go good with some peanut butter. If I eat peanut butter with the apple, I’ll want to brush my teeth afterwards so I don’t have peanut butter breath and little pieces of peanut stuck in my teeth.
You get the idea.
